Product Care and Maintenance
Regular wear and tear will add to the character of your wooden item. Most of my turnings are made for you to use and enjoy. A tiny bit of care will help make each item last a long time.
Pens
Pens are virtually care free. A little wax won’t hurt. I use Renaissance wax every few months.
If you find that you have used all the ink standard refills at Wal-Mart will do. Of course a higher-end roller ball refill may write a little nicer.
Check back or send me an email and I can help you find the right refill.
Bottle Stoppers
Don’t wash these in the dishwasher. Try to keep water off of the wood. Rinse the metal with warm soap and water to clean the stopper. A little Renaissance wax or mineral oil is safe to put on the wood material.
If you notice any corrosion or find the silicone portion of the stopper breaking down I can help you replace either one. I have never found corrosion or had the silicone material break down. I just want to make sure you know I can fix it if you are the first one to run into a problem.
Cutting Board
The first month you have the cutting board rub mineral oil on it every week. After a month put some mineral oil on it once a month. If you use the board a few times a week continue to add mineral oil once a month. If you use the board less often a little oil every couple of months will keep it looking new for a very long time.
Wooden Bowls
Decorative wooden bowls should not need any oil or maintenance. A very light coat or Renaissance wax every several months will keep it looking new.
Pepper Mills
A light coat of mineral oil every few months should do the trick.
